So true. And it is hard for the far-away aunts to see how quickly their beloved nieces and nephews grow up. One day they're babies, the next they are talking in complete sentences on the phone. It made me (as the baby of the family) treasure every one of my own children's baby days. Thanks for reviving the memories!

What a great piece! I have over a dozen nieces and nephews and they are all so precious to me for just the reasons you say. I also grew up with wonderful aunts and uncles and still have many of them in my life. They've only become more special as I get older.

And cousins? What a great idea THAT was! I love all of mine––first, second, once removed, and by law––and treasure the childhood memories we share.

I love this! It actually made me cry, I am an aunt and you sum it up so beautifully about what our aunts would have said if we had stood still long enough.
Regina-- I love this so much! I can remember the hours and hours of fun I had with my cousins at my grandparents house! Such wonderful memories. It's sad to me how we've grown apart as we've aged. I'm thankful that my boys have lots of cousins on my husband's side to play with.

What my Aunt might have said--that part made me tear up.

Thanks, R! :)
